Direct Support Professional

At Step Above, our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) provide hands-on, compassionate support to individuals working toward stability, recovery, and independent living. DSPs play a critical role in assisting clients with daily structure, skill-building, and maintaining progress within our behavioral health and substance use programs.

Our DSPs work closely with clients in residential and community-based settings, offering guidance, supervision, and encouragement throughout their recovery journey. They help reinforce treatment goals by supporting healthy routines, promoting accountability, and ensuring a safe and structured environment.

DSPs are trained to assist individuals in developing essential life skills, managing daily responsibilities, and navigating challenges related to mental health and substance use. They also collaborate with clinicians, therapists, and case managers to ensure consistent, coordinated care.

At Step Above, our DSPs are more than support staff—they are mentors, motivators, and advocates who help clients build confidence and take meaningful steps toward long-term wellness and independence.
