Learn Our Story

Step Above was founded in July 2024 with a vision rooted in passion, perseverance, and purpose. What began as a small tele-health practice, operating from home, quickly grew into something much greater. Our founder, Mrs. Santos, built this organization while working toward licensure, driven by a lifelong dream to create a safe, supportive space where individuals could access quality mental health care and begin their journey toward healing. In the early stages, services were provided virtually, allowing us to reach individuals across Virginia and meet them where they were—both emotionally and physically. As our impact expanded, so did our commitment. By August 2025, we proudly opened our first office in Richmond, Virginia, where we now provide in-person services in a welcoming and supportive environment designed to foster growth, connection, and recovery.

Step Above operates under two entities: Step Above Counseling Services LLC and Step Above To Wellness & Recovery Inc. Together, these organizations allow us to provide a comprehensive continuum of care, ensuring that individuals receive the clinical support, structure, and resources needed at every stage of their mental health and recovery journey.
